Marisqueira Sotavento

We chose to eat there after some time on the beach. Most of the on the menu seafood is quite expensive. We ordered two seafood dishes and two steak dishes. Overall, the food very very good. The sea food dishes were made high quality ingredients. The steak, fries, and egg was also very tasty. The bill was among the highest we paid during our week in Portugal, but frankly, this was also one of our best meals of our trip. The young waitress that helped us was excellent, and could speak to us in English and Spanish. On the other hand, an older waiter was a bit rude and but the wrong dishes on our table on two occasions. The female waitress made our time there fantastic. Thank you. Oh and the sparking sangria was AMAZING!

In the area for a couple of weeks in holidays, we decided to follow all the good comments in here, and my god, the four of us were not disapointed. Nice place with a superb menu of seafood, at a very reasonnable Price for what you have in the plate! If you are nearby, you have to stop there, it'll be worth your money and your Time. Nice view of the sea while you eat, served with kindness and smiles, the crew is here for your every need. We enjoyed, and most certainly will come back before our holidays are over. Joachim

What an amazing place to eat, very soothing experience after going to the beach. Not like other places that were full and with other customers making a lot of noise. Me and my wife went here twice in three days. The food was amazing and the waiters, both named Joao were great, giving an outstanding and refined service and were both great to have a conversation with. We had mussels spanish style and octopus as starters and the seafood rice for two and the choco frito were on point. The only thing missing is music

Seafood paradise! Price - one beer with very cold glass costs 1.8euros. It’s very cheap. One main meal costs 17 euro, which fills you up completely. rice as a side dish, 2.5euros. In this neighbourhood, you can get food for 2people under 20euros. Compared to that, it can get much more expensive. But travelling other cities and come here, it was not at all ‘very expensive’ as I saw on the review (i was afraid if one meal costs like 50 euros or so). Service could be better, but still the food was very good! I will recommend to other people 😊 Sorry I forgot taking photos, just ate already.. and sunset time is amasing view from there!

We adored the place. We had originally planned to go to a different restaurant but it was closed for vacation and decided on a whim to come to this restaurant. We were greeted promptly by the owner/waiter and we had gotten the best service a family owned business can give. We had as a starter the clams, "Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato" with the toasted bread. Delicious on its on but the owner gave us some oregano to sprinkle on the bread after we dip it in the sauce that the clams are in and it is an excellent addition. We found the prices a bit expensive for the seafood, but we expected it since it is a beachside restaurant, so we opted for traditional meaty food and it was great. We will come back to try the seafood options eventually. We later told that the secret to making the sauce of the clams good is the mustard they add. Good to know. We've been to other restaurants and this is our favourite that makes these clams. Compliments to the chef ! Which is the waiters wife. We enjoyed the ambience as the music playing in the background wasn't loud and the view was fantastic. Thank you for a good dinner. We hope to come by again soon.

We had the pleasure of dining here twice on our holiday. Both times the restaurant was relatively quiet at lunchtime, but don’t let that put you off. We tried a number of different dishes over the two visits and found everything to be fresh and tasty and of good quality. Would recommend the clams, the prawns, the seafood rice and the prawn pasta. Service was attentive and the chef came out to check how the seafood rice was. Child friendly.

Loved everything about this place! ❤️ Almost all of their seafood comes from the local fishermen, and was cooked to perfection and seasoned in a way that honored the fresh ingredients. This really brought the waters of Portugal in my plate! 🌊🌊🌊 Marisqueira Sotaventos people made this experience even better, we felt so welcommed and appriciated.. All in all, I think this place is a rare gem!!! 🙏 I was so exited that I forgot to take pictures… 🫣
